Conventional Night Vision Devices (NVDs / NVGs) usually can only be used in dim/dark environments such as night time, while Thermal Imaging devices can be used 24/7 in all light conditions. Thermal Imagers have much better performance in harsh climatic conditions and can view objects behind smoke and fog.
